After the Ball, indeed

Gay marriage: a case study in conformism. It's a long article by today's standards, but worth looking at if you are interested in the contexts and backgrounds and mechanisms that have made gay marriage go from "a joke to a dogma" almost overnight.

And that will make any desired outcome of the triumphant left Establishment become a dogma overnight. Look at how many impossible things we have have already come to believe before breakfast. Look at who's in the White House. Twice.

Kirk and Madsen have succeeded, although behind schedule. Bet you never heard of them and their book: After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the '90s . I'd pretty well forgotten about it, published back in 1989. It was written while AIDS was still mowing people down and Reagan was in the White House. Talk about prophecy and pragmatism.

Once you can combine victim identity with the absolute value of Equality!, it's just a matter of time before public response to your next social engineering project goes from, You've Got To Be Kidding! to Who Are We To Say? and What's The Big Deal? to How Dare You Not?!
