Just askin'

So. The Tsarnaev family got into the US as refugees.

And then voluntarily returned to the place they were refugees from...?

I was very surprised when Bob Beckel of all people opined that Muslims should not be allowed into the country anymore, particularly from problem areas. People ARE waking up.

I know you think the Republican Party is dead, but I've decided to join my university's Republican group for grassroots work. Call me sentimental, but I'm not backing down!

I think Beckel limited his point to Muslim students, but still, for a Democrat, that's a huge risk.

Good luck with the GOP!

Ah, see, I know how to play the game. If they are conservatives, all well and good, and I can work on getting them to mobilize. If they are establishment-types, I'm in for a bit of an uphill slog, but if I whisper enough sweet nothings in their ears (and I'm good at it, I've watched enough Game of Thrones) about how people will be looking for answers when things fall apart under Obama.

A strategy that focuses on presenting Republicans (specifically, young ones) as reasonable and logical is what I'm imagining. A dash of snark, social media savvy, a social libertarian streak, and focusing on conservative/libertarian principles that appeal to college kids and sloganizing it. "Wish your taxes were lower? So do we!" Stuff like that. Active student body participation, etc. A friendlier and more vibrant generation of Republicans. Wish me luck!
