Crossed wires

Michael Cooper - IMDb:

How the hell I wound up here I don't know.

Short version. An anti-Communist priest in Poland, Jerzy Popielusko, was killed in 1984 for his resistance, by the Polish security forces. On the fast track to holiness, he was beatified as a martyr in 2010.

The 1988 movie of his life and death, To Kill A Priest, was written by Polish/Jewish Agnieszka Holland and the English script adapted by American Michael Cooper, noted above.

Minutes before his death, we see him laughing at a fag joke told him by his chauffeur.

Is this historical? Was it made up? If so, why?

WTF?

Well, the Boy Scouts of America caved on gay scouts. Sad. This was a political movement, pure and simple; even if there are some gay kids in the Boy Scouts, they certainly cannot be numerous enough to warrant the kind of hysteria that has been generated. I predict lots of parents pulling their sons out of the Boy Scouts over this, maybe even creating a new scouting organization. And so the cancer of political correctness claims another American tradition. Shame.

I discovered recently that women have been involved in the BSA at all levels for many years now, including scoutmasters, etc. This gives the whole thing a new wrinkle for me. If it has been feminized like that, adding gays in now is not such a big deal. Still a victory for the cultural Marxists, but if women are supposedly teaching boys how to become men, then it's not such a loss. Another way in which gays trail in the wake (or skirts) of the feminists.

I think I was aware of, but forgetting, that. So why even have Boy Scouts at all, rather than Child Scouts? Hmpf.

My best friend, an Eagle Scout, said he would have been fine with the decision had been made to help boys who were perhaps struggling with their sexuality to have a support group to help them sort out their feelings. He has a point. Men, regardless of sexual identity, naturally gravitate towards other men. Scouting, focussing on activities that are archetypically male, could actually increase the number of masculine gay men. A long shot, but a nice fantasy.

Hi there! This blog post could not be written any better! Going through this post reminds me of my previous
roommate! He constantly kept preaching about this. I am going
to send this article to him. Fairly certain he will have a very good read.
