The philosophy of knuckle-dragging

A fascinating alternative take on The Neanderthals...whom genetic testing has revealed to be our partial ancestors. Poor victims of advanced Homo Sapiens? Not according to this fella.

I have no idea of its validity, being no scientist about such things. But it's striking.

An interesting theory, but I question it's veracity. Google neanderthal and ape skeletons; the morphology of the neanderthal skeleton is far more human than primate. I do agree, however, that it's foolish to assume that Neanderthals were basically rugged humans. He is, however, correct about the cannibalism, which suggests a meat-intensive diet. A given, seeing as meat is the most reliable source of food in a snowy environment.

Essentially, it all hinges on just how quickly natural selection can push a species to change from hairless to hairy. That is unclear. But still, an interesting idea, but I am hesitant to give it credence. He does not, apparently, have a scientific degree. I mention this due to the Jurassic Park films; calling the raptors "velociraptors" instead of "deinonychus," the species they more closely resembled, was based on an idea from a man who spent his life drawing dinosaurs, and was not actually a paleontologist.

Still, the idea that humans developed the "us vs. them" mentality due to species warfare with a superior predator certainly explains a lot.
